LiDAR assisted Optimisation and Monitoring for OEMs

The Windvision is Windar Photonics’ 4-beam LiDAR sensor intended specifically for wind turbine OEMs. The WindVISION is intended for direct integration with the wind turbines control system, either as a retrofit or design-in solution.

4-Beam LiDAR Technology with vertical and horizontal measurements

Due to its 4-beam design arranged in an 18° half-cone angle, the WindVISION is able to measure in both the vertical plane and the horizontal plane. This advanced configuration enables far more detailed and precise wind condition analysis compared to traditional nacelle sensors, thereby providing OEMs the ability to gather even more wind field and turbine performance data.

Optimisation and Monitoring

The WindVISION LiDAR sensor, just like the 2-beam WindEYE sensor, can measure and be utilised for correcting yaw misalignment dynamically, ensuring optimal turbine alignment for higher energy production and reduced structural loads.

By utilising measurements from the 4 LiDAR beams, the WindVISION can detect and gather detailed data on critical wind phenomena that affect turbine performance:
